Our zoom presenter tonight is Sara Cook live from the UK. Sara will be introducing us to the world of Korean Bojagi
Bojagi – From ancient traditions to contemporary interpretations
Bojagi have played an important role in traditional Korean culture and have been used in the everyday to wrap, carry and store objects. Until the 1950s they were used to wrap or cover everything from bedding and clothes to food dishes and for religious rituals.
In this lecture, I will introduce you to the historical significance and symbolism of this ancient craft and how contemporary textile artists are interpreting these ideas in their work today.
If you are unable to make it, the Zoom session will be recorded and will be available to watch on our website shortly after the presentation.
The meeting starts at 7.15 pm. See you all there!
